Nurse reads: The Midwife of Hope River (Patricia Harman)

Transient

Amazon suggested this to me because I had bought some of Jennifer Worth's books (get them all in one with the Midwife Trilogy).

Jennifer Worth is the midwife from the PBS series "Call the Midwife" (start with Call the Midwife: Season 1).

Whereas Worth's stories occur in London, Harman's midwife works in Appalachia. I'm not much for OB, but these books and the TV shows fascinate me. They give me pride for my profession, showing how those who went before me worked so hard and how inventive and courageous they were. The history is fascinating too.

Anyone who is a midwife or works in OB is, really, categorically bound to reading this book (and the Jennifer Worth books, too)!
